What’s New in Azure – June 2019

On the back of Microsoft Build 2019, there have been a whole host of updates to Azure and the multitude of services that it provides. In the past month, there have been major improvements to AI, Machine Learning, RedHat Capability, and security updates. Here’s our round-up of the latest.

Adaptive network hardening in Azure Security Center  – With this new feature, Security Center learn the network traffic and connectivity patterns of your Azure workloads. This makes it easier for you to understand which Network Security Group rules for Internet facing virtual machines.

Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) now supports Windows Server containers -With this update, you can lift and shift Windows apps to run on AKS, and seamlessly manage Windows and Linux apps through a single unified API.

Azure Red Hat OpenShift– Azure Red Hat OpenShift provides a flexible, self-service deployment of fully managed OpenShift clusters.

Major Updates to Azure AI and Machine Learning at MS Build 2019 – Improved cognitive services, simplified machine learning, and more.

Azure Bastion now in Preview – Newly released PaaS service that provides secure RDP and SSH access to your virtual machines through Azure portal. This allows for a secure connection for all of your VM’s without any exposure through public IP addresses.
