October 29, 2018 Cara Stafford

Every day, Microsoft developers are working to improve and enhance Microsoft Azure to create a better experience for every user. It can be difficult to keep up with every new feature and change, so we try to stay abreast on any changes and relay important updates to our clients and Azure users.

Here are just a few of the most impactful changes to Azure over the last month:

  • Azure Security Center Updates
At Ignite 2018, Microsoft’s annual conference, there were some new features of Azure Security Center that were announced and now they are available for use. These new features include threat detection for Linux, Azure App Service and Fileless Attack Detection, as well as Alert Confident score, which helps your team triage and prioritize alerts through a formula-based automatic scoring. Finally, Microsoft has rolled out Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) for public preview.

  • Office 365 Data at Scale
As part of Microsoft’s Graph data connect, you can now deliver and analyze Office 365 data in a secure, governed and scalable manner through Azure. This allows you to cross-section and understand how your team members work and interact to help drive organizational productivity.
  • Azure Database for MariaDB
The new feature for Azure Database, MariaDB, is now in public preview. This application of the MariaDB product to Azure Database is a new use for the tool. MariaDB offers an enterprise-ready fully managed community that allows you to easily deploy applications to the clouds using various languages and frameworks.
