March has been a busy time for Microsoft, as they have rolled out new Azure feature for both general availability and public preview. There has also been a batch of updates to Azure Security Center that will enhance user experience. - Azure Premium Blob Storage Generally Available
Premium blob storage is a new performance tier of blob storage and is now available for use. This tier if ideal for workloads with high transaction rates or that require fast access times, such as IoT, AI or telemetry. This tier is available initially in the US East, US East 2, US Central, US West, US West 2, North Europe, West Europe, Japan East and Southeast Asia regions.
- Windows Virtual Desktop in Public Preview
Windows Virtual Desktop delivers the management tools your need to control your Windows 10, along with optimizations for Office365 ProPlus and support for Windows Server Remote Desktop Services. It offers flexibility and scalability, along with security and compliance features that allow you to enhance your Windows 10 experience.
- Azure Lab Services Generally Available
Azure Lab Services is a management tool that allows for access to labs of preconfigured VMs. It provides the ability to automate and scale and also manage your lab budget. With custom templates and scheduling features, you can provision and scale hundreds of VMs with a click.
- Batch Updates to Azure Security Center
March has brought with it a bundle of new features for Azure Security Center, including adaptive app control updates, changes to Secure Score to track your security rating, updates to policies and improvements to Azure App Service that recommends system improvements.
